Cartridge Filters
Cartridge filters are tubular-shaped filter elements held in position by housing. The flow of the fluid being filtered is directed into the housing and through the filter where unwanted particles, pollutants, and chemicals are trapped within the filter media. There are multiple types of cartridge filters including string wound filters, pleated cartridges, melt blown filters and carbon wrapped filter cartridges. Due to the depth and thickness of cartridge filters, they are especially effective at filtering out very small particles and at a particular concentration. Cartridge filters are easy to replace and dispose of making them an attractive option for many users.
