Description
Van Air Systems Activated Alumina Desiccant is a porous form of aluminum oxide and is designed with a high surface area that adsorbs vapors without any change in form. In compressed air and gas drying applications, activated alumina is able to achieve dew points -40°F to -100°F depending on the dryer.
The 1/8 inch size is the most commonly used activated alumina bead, while the 1/4 inch size is suitable as a pre-bed for supporting large desiccant beds or as a buffer for silica gel beds. When pressure drops and surface area requirements are smaller, the 3/16 inch bead size is ideal.
Applications Include:
- Regenerative dryers
- Acid removal
- Process stream purification
- Hydrocarbon adsorption
